Training is a long established, not for profit organisation
with the aim of promoting leisure aviation. We are a
friendly flying school specialising in flying training for the
Private Pilots Licence, associated ratings and tail wheel
training. We also have a separate flying club called Redhill
Aero Club that organises a calendar of social events
including fly-outs, barbeques and club nights.
For Private Pilot Licence (PPL) training we offer a choice of aircraft types which includes the superb Katana DA20, the Piper Warrior II , the Diamond Star DA40-180 or if you prefer a tailwheel aircraft, the Piper Super Cub. Advanced instrument flying training, for the IR(R), is available using the Piper Warrior II and the Diamond Star DA40-180 and the DA40NG. Tailwheel conversion training is available using the Piper Super Cub. Training for the AOPA Aerobatics Certificate is available using the Slingsby T67M Firefly. All our aircraft are well equipped with modern avionics including moving map GPS navigation systems. Cubair aircraft are available for self-fly rental to suitably qualified members of Redhill Aero Club.
As we are not driven by the need for profit we are able to offer an individual service to our students with time to complete proper pre and post flight briefings and for our instructors to attend to a student's particular needs. We have a dedicated team of instructors many of whom come from an airline or corporate jet background, others are experienced general aviation pilots. One thing that they all have in common is the desire to pass on their knowledge, skills and love of flying to new pilots. We have our own flight examiner and we are a corporate member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
At Cubair we believe in being totally upfront and realistic about prices. With us what you see is what you get, there are no hidden fuel surcharges or weekend supplements. Many other flying schools will charge you from the moment you start the engine on the aeroplane to when you shut down. We charge only for time that you are airborne plus a nominal 0.2 hours for taxying regardless of how long you are actually on the ground for. With us if you taxy for fuel or are held on the ground by ATC you won't be paying for this time.
Redhill Aerodrome has
full Air Traffic Control and all modern
facilities but is focussed on general aviation. Being held on
the ground by Redhill ATC for any length of time is unusual.
Unlike other nearby airports priority is not given to
commercial jet operators so you get the maximum amount of
flying time from your lesson. Redhill is easily accessible
from the M25/A25/A23 and close to both Nutfield and Redhill
